The night before graduation we had a picnic.

Post-graduation!

Dan at the finish line - 100 miles!
I thought I'd put a Christmas card up here.
Regular readers (mother are you there?) will recognize the photos.
We didn't write a Christmas letter this year, it got to be December and just getting cards out was a project.
But the Tahoe bike ride was really our first big thing this year. Dan rode all spring on practices, and even slipped in some European rides while on a business trip. I've got the Loure Valley on my list of places to go after looking over his photos of that.
Right before the ride Jack graduated from St. Mary's College. That was a huge accomplishment. He's currently living here in Silver Spring, working in Alexandria at an IP law firm. Recently he's been thinking about moving to Virginia. Given the un-friendly business climate in Maryland I can't really blame him, but it would be further from us.
Scott is studying at Montgomery College. At present the plan is pre-nursing, which is heavy on science. He's made it through Biology and Psychology and is giving Anatomy I his best shot. Next semester is Anatomy II, then onto Chemistry. He's' moved out and is living with friends in a rental house in Silver Spring.
Dan and I went to California in late June for a Rose family get together. We biked across the Golden Gate bridge. That was a wonderful experience. It's a view worth the ride. In July we went, all by ourselves, to New Hampshire where we stayed at Camp Calumet with the Brown's. July also found us in Rhode Island at Katherine's wedding. August/September found us in Ohio for Sarah Holmes wedding. In October we piggybacked a trip to Spain on the Burton Group's European Catalyst. This year we went to Seville, Granada and Cordoba - not in that order.
Olive passed away in October, right before the Spain trip, which we dedicated to her. In November we had a memorial service for her. She had not been well at all for a year, and had been slowing down from the effects of a stroke for several years before that. As we gathered our thoughts for the memorial we re-wound back to the women that we knew, and prefer to remember her in those days. We miss her and always will.
December finds us preparing for a Christmas trip to Lawrence. It's hard to say what 2008 will bring.
