The two books were interesting against one another. Both main characters had transient childhoods, and both were drawn to unusual parts of the world.
The mission work of both was greately helped by an early pairing with a well-to-do mentor. Having someone to seed your projects helps keep the focus on the project and draws other donors into the work.
