Scottkins is 21!

Scott and his Dad -

It's hard to believe it but Scott turned 21 today. Twenty-one years ago Scott was born on Labor Day. It was his due date, so he's prompt. He was born at 6:30 a.m. the morning after an evening out where I had Chicken Mole for dinner. For his birthday dinner we had steak with gorgonzola sauce, it's white and he's a white food guy.

Tomorrow we're taking him back to New York to school. This is his second year at Pace. Last year he took himself to school because the day before Dan had his bone marrow transplant. I'd add that Scott was the donor so he took himself back to school with a big punch in his hip where he donated a very large bag of bone marrow.

This year is completely different. Dan is doing quite well and was graduated to 6 months check-ups. Scott has a year of school under his belt and is going back for more.

We've got a celebration planned. We'll go to New York, Tarry town on Saturday and check into a Marriott. Sunday we're taking the train into the city where we'll meet up with his New York best friend. Scott's the kind of guy who has a best friend here and a best friend there.

We'll hang around in the city all day, maybe try to get last minute tickets to a show. We'll stay in Tarry town Sunday night and Monday we'll dump him off - deliver him to school.

A year can make a big difference and this time it's a good one.
