One unique thing about our trip to Utah was that it rained for several days. In the Swell we had clouds and drizzle, and it followed us down to Moab. Now this rain hardly qualified as "Rain" by Maryland standards. Mostly it turned the dust into mud. We found out later that this little rain is kind of tricky when you're outdoors. Well worn trials look a lot like runoff areas and it's easy to get lost.
One pleasant thing is that everything really smells with the addition of a bit of moisture. So we got the desert, not in bloom, but certainly in fragrance.
